These pictures show the distributuion of pressure on the ground. The color scale on the left indicates "red" as the highest pressure and "blue" as the lowest. The variance of colors shows the different pressures in each location as the foot is maximally pronated (the foot is spread out as much as it can). These pictures are of a right foot with the toes at the top of the image.

The barefoot picture (on the left) shows an uneven distribution of pressure across the ball of the foot as it is maximally pronated (spread out to the ground). This foot carries most of its pressure towards the inside of the foot (particularly under metatarsals one and two)

The middle picture with the patient wearing his own "traditional" orthotic is reducing the pressure (compared to the barefoot). We can see why this patient's orthotic is effective for him.

The last picture on the right (with the SDO) in my opinion shows the best distribution of pressure and best balance for this foot.
